System Support Team Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Systems Support Team Lead is responsible for the effective operation of IT services across the organization. The Systems Support Team Lead oversees IT project management, resource management, and supervision of IT staff. The Systems Support Team Lead is responsible for communicating with the executive team, business unit leaders, and end users. The Systems Support Team Lead is accountable for IT strategic and tactical planning, as well as identifying, selecting, and deploying the appropriate technology resources that will support corporate goals and objectives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- IT Administration Requirements:
- Manage local datacenters.
- Responsible for every aspect of the hands on day-to-day support of the IT Systems Hardware and Software (Servers, Workstations, Network components and peripherals).
- Direct responses to user resource/account requirements and advise management of any issues affecting the functioning of the IT systems.
- Hands on hardware and software troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Upgrade Hardware and Software as required and maintain configuration logs of all changes/modifications.
- Maintain software licensing and hardware maintenance/warranty records.
- Ensure proper maintenance of user accounts and access to systems.
- Ensure software systems are adequately supported through IT staff knowledge and availability.
- Business Systems Requirements:
- Plan, develop, and manage all IT services, programs, and support throughout the enterprise.
- Assist senior management with the direction and facilitation of IT strategic and tactical planning.
- Research, design, and implement the appropriate technologies to support and improve corporate communications, access to information, and end-user productivity.
- Hire, staff, and supervise a skilled team of IT professionals; help guide the professional development of IT personnel.
- Assist in developing and managing a budget for technology, IT services, and personnel.
- Must understand the business functions as they relate to the database file structures and information flow within the system.
- Ensure the maintenance of user accounts and security permissions.
- Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization, business partners, and/or customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Grade 12 diploma
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred. Certificate or diploma from a technical school and training equivalent required; combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years experience working in an MS Windows environment supporting Servers 2008, 2012 & 2016, Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Microsoft IIS, TCP/IP, DHCP, and Windows 7, 10.
- Experience supporting and using MS Office applications.
- Business experience in an industrial production/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge/Experience of Kanban systems, ISO procedures & work instructions and Lean Principles is a benefit.
- Experience with vendor relations, obtaining proposals and bids.
- Experience with System Center Configuration Manager a plus.
PHYSICAL
- Regularly required to stand walk or sit; use hands to operate computers, office equipment; use vision and hearing dealing with communication and office materials.
LANGUAGE
- Strong written (report writing and email) and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with all areas of the Company.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Previous experience with an ERP system with a sound understanding of the file structures.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on exceptional skills in Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point and database/processing software
