DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote a quality driven continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.
Manage all quality activities and initiatives for CEC
Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is established, implemented, maintained and improved at CEC Chilliwack in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard.
Manage the quality systems as defined in the ASME Section I and Section VIII Div 1 and CSA B51 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
Maintain product and Quality System conformance to European Directives including PED, ATEX
Manage product specific certifications and compliance with international regulations as.
Establish the awareness of customer and QMS requirements throughout the company.
Report on the performance and effectiveness of the QMS to senior management.
Support the adherence to CEC’s Product Development Process.
Define the Quality Plan for all products and projects.
Drive and support Design, Engineering and Sales in the deployment of quality assurance requirements.
Provide statistical analysis on product quality.
Assist Supply Chain with supplier quality assurance data and analysis.
Conduct root-cause investigations, provide and implement recommended solutions.
Manage and ensure the effectiveness of the NCR, CAR, PAR and internal audit systems.
Manage the calibration system.
Ensure the incoming QC inspection is effective and efficient in support of a “zero defect” operation.
Manage the welder qualification system.
Manage and control the QMS documentation system.
Manage the effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control employees.
Conduct training on the QMS.
Provide training and guidance in support of world class manufacturing methods.
Define and conduct training in CI practices such as poka yoke, root cause analysis, etc.
Perform work in accordance with CEC documented policies and procedures
Manage and complete all applicable quality records
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
Diploma of Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
Lean certification, 6 sigma black belt are definite assets.
EXPERIENCE
7-10 years relevant experience in Quality Management in an ISO 9001, multi-site manufacturing environment.
LANGUAGE
Excellent written and communication skills at all levels of an organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office.
Experience with quality software (Minitab, calibration management, nonconformance, etc).
CERTIFICATES/LICENCES/PERMITS
ASQ certification is strongly preferred.
OTHER
Strong leadership skills.
Proven ability to influence upwards and downwards (management, employees and suppliers).
Strong knowledge of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Strong working knowledge of the ASME Sec. VIII, Div. 1 Codes.
Excellent organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and provide solutions.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
