DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop PLC programs, with an emphasis on standardization of the program through the employment of functional blocks, module libraries, and compartmentalization of logical blocks.
Continue the development and implementation of standard Engineering practices and documentation.
Perform PLC programming changes or upgrades.
Improve current PLC programs.
Assist other engineers with design of electrical/mechanical control schematics.
Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of CEC equipment and components.
Liaise with suppliers, contractors and commissioning teams regarding equipment.
Create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.
Train operators and maintenance staff in the operation and maintenance of CEC electrical and pneumatic equipment and components.
Other work as assigned.
Perform work in accordance with CEC documented policies and procedures.
Complete all applicable quality records.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering is an asset or combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in PLC logic and programming preferably with Allen Bradley, Siemens and Horner.
Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and S7-1200 / S7-1500 PLCs and Siemens Comfort HMI.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in PLC programming and hands-on in an industrial environment.
Experience with CNG equipment, and in particular compressors, is preferred.
Experience in Hazardous area and Oil/Gas industries is an asset.
Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning environment is an asset.
Experience with electrical schematic design is an asset.
PHYSICAL
Regularly required to stand walk or sit; use hands to operate computers, office equipment; use vision and hearing dealing with communication and office materials.
Travel 10% to North America Customers.
LANGUAGE
Proficient written and verbal communication in English.
Verbal communication in Spanish is an asset.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word/EXCEL/VISIO).
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Experience with Siemens TIA Portal programming environment.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/PERMITS
