Test Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Test Engineer works as part of the Product Development and Research and Development team to define and document test requirements and methodologies for qualification and production purposes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to define and document the test requirements and test methodologies, both for qualification and production purposes.
- Participate in design reviews, coordinating Design for Testability and Design for Manufacturability feedback to the design team.
- Design test circuits as required.
- Perform validation of test fixtures and test equipment to ensure test systems are capable of providing accurate and reliable test results.
- Develop and perform electrical and mechanical test processes.
- Gather information from drawings, specifications and design engineers necessary to develop tests and documentation.
- Define and develop test requirements based upon design documents.
- Compile test data to demonstrate the test equipment built meets the specified requirements.
- Write test procedures and analytical reports from measurement results. Develop forms for collection of test data.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Perform work in accordance with CEC documented policies and procedures.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5 years’ experience in the design and development of manufacturing test solutions is preferred.
PHYSICAL
- Regularly required to stand walk or sit; use hands to operate computers, office equipment; use vision and hearing dealing with communication and office materials.
LANGUAGE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient with MS Office Suite with advanced excel skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C++, C#, Visual Basic is beneficial.
- Experience with Labview and PLC ladder is an asset.
- 3D modeling and drafting skills (SolidWorks is beneficial)
OTHER
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in data collection, statistical analysis, and report summarization.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
