Technical Sales and Service Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Technical Sales and Service Managers main objective is to generate parts and service sales by engaging with channel partners and pursuing direct sales when required. The Technical Sales and Service Manager manages a team of Technical Service Representatives and is responsible for managing the interactions between service clients and the organization.
TERMS: As per Employment Contract.
SUPERVISOR (Reports To): Director of Global Business Development
SUPERVISES: Technical Service Representative (Global)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
- Develop short and long term plans in order to pursue market penetration and/or growth.
- Build relationships with new and existing clients.
- Conduct continuous analysis on competitors pricing and strategies.
- Develop, manage, and nurture new and existing accounts.
- Develop and assess strategies to improve customer satisfaction
Tactical
- Gather and process feedback from clients and channel partners.
- Evaluate channel partners on selected target regions.
- Develop and implement quarterly and/or annual sales plans, policies and programs for territory sales and channel partners.
- Ensures accurate and suitable parts and service pricing is maintained to maximize sales volumes and profitability.
- Develop, manage and nurture new business accounts.
Technical Support
- Generate commissioning proposals that align to market needs and available resources.
- Manage technical training for channel partners and Technical Service Technicians.
- Confer with internal departments and senior management to provide advice, feedback and to resolve problems related to clients.
- Manage warranties between clients and the company to guarantee timely closure.
Administrative
- Leads the daily operations of the Technical Service Representative team; planning, scheduling, prioritizing and delegating tasks to ensure a proper functioning department.
- Other duties as required.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
- Perform work in accordance with CEC documented policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of experience in management with at least 3 years of proven leadership responsibility.
- Prior technical sales/support would be an asset.
- Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to provide service on compressor equipment would be an asset.
PHYSICAL
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to operate computers, office equipment; use vision and hearing for dealing with communication and office materials.
LANGUAGE
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write clear correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/PERMITS
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and Canadian Passport.
OTHER
- Proven communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels are essential.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills and the ability to work quickly and methodically is required for this position.
- Must have a positive, take-charge attitude and be obsessively customer focused.
