Sales Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Sales Engineer works as part of the Product Solutions team to provide technical input to the estimating process. The Sales Engineer assists the Product Solutions team select equipment that is suitable for the customer’s requirements and promotes CEC products. The Sales Engineer also provides technical assistance to prospective and current customers as required.
TERMS: As per Employment Contract.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review project specifications to determine project scope and CEC equipment compliance.
- Generate budgetary proposals, process designs, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangements (GAs) and final bid proposals.
- Provide Sales Engineering support to the Sales team and maintain a working knowledge of all active projects.
- Review and verify project documents for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Submit project documentation to Product Solutions Manager for approval.
- Timely preparation of budgetary proposals.
- Adhere to all internal procedures related to bid preparation, proposal tracking, order hand-over packages, and internal sales forecasting tools.
- Assist Project Managers in the preparation of project change orders.
- Present CEC products to customers by providing technical expertise through the different phases of the sales process.
- Train Sales team, customers and other employees on technical matters relating to all products.
- Handle correspondence with customers and Sales team on matters relating to applications, technical support, and other activities that are deemed necessary.
- Present products and systems to customers at various seminars held throughout the year.
- Collect and process competitive information and market intelligence.
- Assist in development of product strategies at assigned accounts in conjunction with the Project Solutions Group.
- Initiate the transmittal of product technical literature or other information as a result of customer requests.
- Perform work in accordance with CEC documented policies and procedures.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an appropriate related Engineering discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years practical experience.
- Demonstrated involvement in design & product development.
LANGUAGE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/PERMITS
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- Valid Passport for travel.
OTHER
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Must possess the ability to deal effectively with customers and have exceptional customer service skills.
- Conviction to support continuous improvement in the department and company as a whole.
- High level of personal integrity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
