Project Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW: Coordinate detailed product and project development across a multifunctional group and communicate to support customer deadlines, production, planning and supply chain.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in defining the scope of projects.
- Ensure projects follow defined departmental processes.
- Coordinate project development, milestones and overall progress.
- Create and maintain a detailed project schedule.
- Manage, respond to, and communicate, schedule delays.
- Facilitate problem resolution through appropriate corrective action.
- Review and manage project changes (manage change orders).
- Interact with planning, supply chain and manufacturing on project deliveries.
- Work in accordance with documented policies, procedures and instructions.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
- Create and maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant accurate and complete.
- Track and report on project performance, providing real time, comprehensive reports.
- Document and share lessons learned and best practices across projects and programs.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels.
- Develop and maintain a solid understanding of customer needs, methods and procedures relevant to internal processes.
- Initiate and organize meetings with stakeholders and management to address challenges.
- Communicate with customers on regular basis on project progress and issues.
- Assist in continual improvement of the Project Management Office at CEC
- Mentor co-workers in proper project management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION
- Engineering degree or diploma in a technical field of study (e.g. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).
- Certificate or Degree in project management preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years’ experience in project management.
PHYSICAL
- Fluency in reading, writing and communicating using English
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, MS Project or other project management tools.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/PERMITS
- PMP or equivalent designation an asset.
OTHER
- Perform work in accordance with CEC documented policies and procedures.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
