Industrial Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Manufacturing Engineering Team at Clean Energy Compression (CEC) has a position available for an Industrial Engineer. The successful candidate will apply his/her strong technical and organizational skills to support manufacturing and assembly processes for production of NG compression equipment from beginning to end, including shipping. Working closely with Production Planners, Manufacturing Engineers, and Production Personnel, the Industrial Engineer will plan and optimize factory layout, internal logistics of materials, documentation and information and be responsible for overseeing of labour capacities. The duties include time studies, resolving of production bottlenecks through capacity modeling and production leveling, and ensuring accurate Mfg Cell statistics.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop factory layout, including utilities, workstations and shop equipment.
- Optimize and implement logistics and flow of materials, documentation and information, from start of process to end, including shipping.
- Develop labour calculations and capacity planning models to allow efficient managing of resources and production bottlenecks.
- Measure, study and develop Mfg Cell statistics and capacities, including time studies. Update and maintain ERP and BOM to ensure proper costing and price calculations.
- Lead factory wide Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness of resources.
- Identify process improvements, including cost benefit analysis and ROI
- Support in creation of process charts for manufacturing and assembly processes
- Create, deploy and maintain Visual Factory
- Perform work in accordance with CEC’s documented policies and procedures, including document control and managing of documentation changes.
- Interface with project stakeholders and executive sponsors. Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills in removing of obstacles and resolving of conflicts.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an industrial/process engineer in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to create and execute project plans.
- Knowledge of the requirements of TS 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Knowledge and execution experience with APQP elements: Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan.
- Sound technical background (hands-on) with logical deductive reasoning approach.
Physical
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP software packages.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
OTHER
- Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings.
