Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, you will join a department that also includes the QA Manager, another Inspector and support staff. You may be involved in all aspects of quality assurance, although you will focus on inspecting received shipments of raw materials and components. The raw materials will include piping, tubing and metal sheets used for the fabrication of frames and supports, as well as pressure tubing and vessels rated to CE and ASME standards.

You'll use a variety of metrological tools, such as digital calipers, micrometers, roughness testers, depth gauges, weld gauges and others; we typically work with tolerances in the thousandths of inches. In addition, you may inspect larger objects and materials using lasers, height gauges, a lift table, granite surface plate, Faro arm and others.

Overall, your responsibilities in this position will include completing receiving, in-process and final inspections to requirements specified on purchase orders, drawings and work order travelers; completing inspection and calibration test reports; calibration of inspection and measuring equipment; and gathering, reviewing, scanning and filing of test reports.
