Quality Inspector
Canada CECC HQ
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, you will join a department that also includes the QA Manager, another Inspector and support staff. You may be involved in all aspects of quality assurance, although you will focus on inspecting received shipments of raw materials and components. The raw materials will include piping, tubing and metal sheets used for the fabrication of frames and supports, as well as pressure tubing and vessels rated to CE and ASME standards.
You'll use a variety of metrological tools, such as digital calipers, micrometers, roughness testers, depth gauges, weld gauges and others; we typically work with tolerances in the thousandths of inches. In addition, you may inspect larger objects and materials using lasers, height gauges, a lift table, granite surface plate, Faro arm and others.
Overall, your responsibilities in this position will include completing receiving, in-process and final inspections to requirements specified on purchase orders, drawings and work order travelers; completing inspection and calibration test reports; calibration of inspection and measuring equipment; and gathering, reviewing, scanning and filing of test reports.
More specifically, you will:
- Complete receiving inspections of raw materials, purchased parts and assemblies using the work order/traveler, CEC drawings, customer drawings and/or other technical documents
- Complete in-process inspection of machined/fabricated parts and assemblies using the work order/traveler,CEC drawings, customer drawings and/or other technical documents
- Complete final inspections of assemblies using the work order/traveler, IMW drawings, customer drawings and/or other technical documents
- Set up and use various pieces of inspection and measuring equipment
- Scan and file copies of inspection and test records as specified by the work order/traveler
- Calibrate inspection and measuring equipment according to the calibration schedule and calibration instructions
- Complete all applicable quality records
- Perform work in accordance with CEC documented policies and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
