This entry-level field service role is your opportunity to work as a self-directed Service Technician responsible for the care and maintenance of Clean Energy's natural gas fueling station near the Port of Long Beach.
If you combine mechanical and electrical aptitude with a commitment to working safely, and strong customer service skills, the role of Service Technician, dedicated to supporting Port of Long Beach fleet traffic, could be your ideal opportunity. You'll be responsible for assisting customers in fueling their trucks, and for doing regular equipment inspections, frontline repairs and for cleaning and maintaining the site and equipment. While you'll work independently as the sole on-site service tech responsible for daily repairs and maintenance, for complex repairs, you'll have a local team of experienced field service technicians who can support you.

The Port of Long Beach station (pictured right below) offers six bays and fuel choices including compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and diesel. It's an important site and a large and busy station. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers and keep traffic moving, followed by daily maintenance and repairs.
Initially, you'll learn the station and operations, then Clean Energy will provide on the job and online training to give you the knowledge and confidence to work on and repair our specialized equipment. Demonstrate your talent and ability, and in time, you could step up to a Service Tech II on-site or field role.
Salary range depends on experience and includes overtime, when needed, and competitive benefits. While you will spend most or all of your time at the station, you could support a more experienced technician in the field with larger projects, which will help you master our equipment. Flexibility is key.
The Requirements
- A demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment.

- A self-starter with a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable/insurable driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without requiring visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
Additionally, you will provide the tools necessary to work on equipment. Clean Energy provides all specialized tools. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
