The Requirements

To meet the basic qualifications for the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II role, you will have:
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. for any employer without requiring visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
  • A high school diploma or GED.  
In addition, to be a good fit for the role you should have:
  • 2-5+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid mechanical skills and aptitude, as well as a basic understanding of electrical; direct experience with electrical is preferred.  Quick question for you - click here
  • PLC programming and controls experience is a plus.
  • A commitment to working safely with high-pressure gases and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical relay schematics preferred.  Quick question for you - click here
  • Basic math skills.
  • Your own set of tools up to 1 1/2".  
  • A clean, insurable driving record.
  • A safe place to park a fully stocked truck (while on call you may take a service truck home).
Additionally, success will require the following:
  • Analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with clients, including translating technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability and willingness to create detailed documentation.
In addition to these requirements, you'll need to be flexible in your schedule. For the most part, you will work the day shift, Monday through Friday, but you'll also help cover vacations and other time off for the other two Technicians (as they will for you). You'll also participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

The Role

Opportunity Overview
Reporting to the Director, Northeast Regional Operations, you will inspect, maintain and repair the fueling equipment and ensure an aesthetically pleasing appearance at a high-volume on-site fleet fueling station. Each day you will check in and out with the customer, proactively communicating and building relationships with site personnel. You will bring a sense of ownership for the station and it's overall care, and also be proactive about communicating with the other two Maintenance Mechanics.

On any given shift you will perform a range of duties from painting and/or cleaning to ensuring safety interlocks for shut-down systems are working properly to automatically rebuilding compressors after 5000 hours of use. The lion's share of your duties will be mechanical maintenance, and there also will be tasks related to electrical and control functions. Some tasks will be short, while others, such as rebuilding a compressor, will take longer.

More specifically, you will:
  • Make periodic inspections equipment to determine that proper and normal operating conditions are being met.
  • Check and record operational data such as fluid levels, temperatures and pressures, compare to trends and have the ability to make corrections as needed.
  • Install, remove and modify fueling equipment.
  • Maintain all fueling related equipment and structures in accordance with manufactures and Clean Energy guidelines.
  • Clean and maintain the station by picking up trash, emptying trash cans and dumpsters, hand cleaning and polishing fueling equipment, and painting and maintaining related infrastructure.
  • Repair, replace and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore proper operating condition specified in regulations and repair manuals.
  • Inspect, maintain, adjust, repair or replace electrical equipment including electrical wiring, conduit, panels, switch gear, switches, gauges, transducers, solenoids, gas dryers, actuators, motors, meters and controls for safe and proper operating condition.
  • Inspect, maintain, adjust, repair or replace mechanical equipment such as compressors pumps, engines, intercoolers, after coolers, heat exchangers, piping, tubing, fittings, filters, traps, gas dryers, fasteners, valves and actuators for safe and proper operating condition.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems such as current overloads, ground faults, open circuits and faulty relay logic.
  • Correct electrical and mechanical issues such as, but not limited to: phase imbalances, current draw, low voltage power supplies, pressure transmitters, relay logic programmable logic control operation, mechanical failures of pumps, valves, piping, actuators, motors, contactors, etc.
